Perhaps the one that we are waiting for.
The much anticipated or let’s say – interrupted program by the government is now approved by the President Rody Duterte according to Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, on a Facebook post today (see below).
During the 13th Cabinet meeting on Malacañang today, President Duterte gave his approval on the program after Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Rodolfo Salalima made his presentation.
The DICT submitted some options to the Office of the President last year to implement a national broadband program. This program consists of setting up a nationwide infrastructure by the government which will service everyone including hard-to-reach areas.
There are no more details revealed as of this moment. However, we’re eyeing on this one that much because sooner or later we’ll be benefiting a much cheaper, and faster internet due to the fact that there’s a REAL competition, between the government and the private companies.
