MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Vivo is on a roll lately on launching new smartphones, and after bringing it to Asian markets such as Singapore and India, Philippines is the next recipient of Vivo’s in-display fingerprint-equipped smartphone.
To those who are wondering, the “UD” moniker on its model name stands for “Under Display”, and while it isn’t the first phone to have the under display fingerprint technology (their X20 has the title), it is the first X-series smartphone from Vivo to be made available in the country.
Apparently, this seems to be not on par with Vivo NEX, the company’s newest offering and probably the flagship to date. It features an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor paired up with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with an option for expandability up to 256GB via microSD.
Under the phone’s 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display is the under-display fingerprint scanner, while the notch houses the 12-megapixel, f/2.0 front shooter as well as the earpiece. On the back, a dual-camera setup with 12 and 5-megapixel sensors are present, the configuration we’ve used to see on some other smartphones as well.
All of that are powered by a respective 3200mAh non-removable batter as well as Vivo’s own custom OS (FunTouch 4.0) on top of Android Oreo 8.1 out-of-the-box.
